Why is Financial Literacy for our Youth a National Obligation?

Empower our youth with knowledge and techniques to become “Money Magnets” with the aim to help them achieve financial freedom early in life and thus become self-reliant, productive members of society.
National prosperity is the result of individual prosperity. A nation of ‘poor people’ has no money to spend on or invest in anything. They dream of a better life but the way they choose to achieve it may not be the most the most constructive or successful. Many young people believe that they are powerless when it comes to creating wealth. A study of the economic history of Malaysia showing how it went from being a bankrupt country to one of the wealthiest in Southeast Asia is very instructive in this regard.
Research into brain science shows that we are all programmed to achieve exactly what we are achieving – no more and no less. If our programming is limiting us because of the ideas we have grown up with regarding wealth, it is difficult to go beyond these self-imposed limitations without changing the program we have. The purpose of our UGYL is to help our youth to think differently about ‘wealth creation’ and to empower them to take an active role in building their own wealth by taking low-value resources and converting these into value-creating resources.
“It all comes down to this: if your subconscious ‘financial blueprint’ is not SET for success nothing you learn, nothing you know and nothing you do will make a difference!” T. Harv Eker from Secrets of the Millionaire Mind
It is not enough to teach people entrepreneurship (more than 80% of these new businesses fail within the first 3 years). A major contributing factor to this failure is the mindset of the entrepreneur. Our objective is to tackle the root cause of the problem – Mindset and Financial IQ©.
Young people who are about to enter the workforce, start up their own business, open their first bank account, take out a loan for the first time and start preparing to create their own family unit need to be “Money Magnet”© in order to contribute to national prosperity. There is nothing to prepare them for this. Being “Money Magnet”©, will help our youth reach financial independence earlier in life.
In other words, Financial Freedom for our youth means that they will be able to move out of their family homes, buy their own apartment, manage their money responsibly, open up bank accounts and start up their own businesses or act responsibly in a job much earlier than they do at present.
Starting with 20 years of research on the psychology of wealth creation published in Napoleon Hill’s classics Think and Grow Rich and The Laws of Success in 16 Lessons as well as Learned Optimism by Martin Seligman and the work of sociologist Fred Polak who showed in his study of 1,500 years of European history: If culture holds a very pessimistic view of the future, it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. On the other hand, optimistic societies also produce a self-fulfilling prophecy and wealth follows because these societies expect success and are therefore motivated to work for it.
Wealth is all about how we THINK about and define WEALTH. – The wealth series of group coaching sessions enable our youth to change their mindset and provides them with practical tools for creating value. They will experience the power of being resourceful, optimistic, and creative but also pragmatic. Wealth is all about the way we think about ourselves and the society in which we live. Participants will be empowered to see abundance where they once saw scarcity.
Innovation: Upgrade Your Life is not about business plans and day-trading. It is about raising our youth’s self-esteem and changing their mindset from that of a ‘poor-me-mentality’ to one of ‘a wealth-creator mentality’? Teaching them fishing instead of giving them a ‘fish’ for just one day!
